A Brief Rundown of Events At The 2020 Singapore Fintech Festival

A Brief Rundown of Events At The 2020 Singapore Fintech Festival

December has been an exciting month for bitcoin, cryptocurrency and the wider fintech landscape. The second run of the Singapore FinTech Festival x Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SFF x SWITCH) went virtual for the first time, with over 60,000 participants and 7,000 global companies from 7 - 11 December 2020.

Coinhako participated in this year’s edition of the SFF X SWITCH for the first time since our establishment, with a virtual booth featuring blockchain content and an exclusive preview of our upcoming product launch — Coinhako Privé.

With SFF going virtual this year, we were able to showcase our brand and product on a truly global stage.

With the event happening on a global scale, attendees access to content was made much more seamless — SFF pass holders enjoyed 24/7 access to over 600 sessions and 1,400 speakers across 5 days.

“ Fintech is one key area we are growing so singapore can continue to develop as a global financial hub.”

-Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister, during his opening address for the 2020 Singapore Fintech Festival

Here’s what went down at the SFF, if you weren’t able to join us:

Live Panel Discussions With Key Industry Leaders

During the Singapore Fintech Festival, we got to hear from noteworthy industry professionals from world-class organisations such as Sygnum bank, Blockshow, Nasdaq, Banyan Tree Holdings and PwC.

Our CEO and co-founder Yusho Liu panelled a segment hosted by Blockshow, titled “Unchaining the Singapore Story- Growth of a Local Ecosystem” alongside CEO of DigixGlobal Shaun Djie, and CEO of Xfers Tianwei Liu.

They unpacked real startup stories, tracing back to blockchain’s startups’ humble beginnings, which were before the bust and boom of crypto in 2017.

Among all the points that were discussed, Yusho brought up how Singapore’s innovative business landscape creates a fertile environment for crypto and blockchain businesses to thrive and develop.

Few cities rival the volume of crypto and blockchain business operating legally in Singapore, making the local fintech landscape extremely robust.

“ Singapore is well-positioned to be a global fintech hub.”

-Yusho Liu, CEO of Coinhako

Yusho also emphasized that aspiring entrepreneurs looking to venture into the cryptocurrency space should practice self-regulation and mindfulness when considering opportunities that come their way.

2. Exclusive Content and Product Launches

We were delighted to do a preliminary reveal of our upcoming enterprise product — Coinhako Privé  — at our virtual booth. Coinhako Privé was unveiled via a downloadable exclusive preview deck, consisting of a brief tour of the new product and its features.

Created with institutional and high-net-worth clients in mind, Coinhako Privé seeks to provide  bespoke, world-class digital assets services to further accelerate access to digital assets in Asia.

More details about Coinhako Privé will follow very soon.

We had a wonderful time at this year’s SFF, and would like to thank everyone who joined us at our virtual booth. We hope you had an insightful and enjoyable experience like we did!
